Jared Harris refuses to take part in the Harry Potter reboot
Harris says that he will not play Dumbledore in the HBO show
The actor cited the legacy of his late father as the reason
Jared Harris has spoken out about the upcoming Harry Potter reboot, and he has said that he will not be playing the role of Dumbledore, a role famously played by his late father, Richard Harris. Harris says that he made the decision out of respect for his father's legacy. “My father was an extraordinary actor and a wonderful man, and I cannot imagine anyone else playing Albus Dumbledore,” Harris said. “I think it would be a disservice to his memory to try to step into his shoes.” Harris also said that he does not believe that a reboot of the Harry Potter series is necessary. “I think the Harry Potter films are perfect as they are,” Harris said. “I don't think there is any need to reboot them.” The Harry Potter reboot is set to be a television series on HBO. It will be based on the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. The series is expected to premiere in 2025. Harris's decision not to participate in the reboot is sure to disappoint some fans of the Harry Potter series. However, it is understandable that he would not want to fill the shoes of his late father. Harris's father, Richard Harris, played Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films. He died in 2002, and the role of Dumbledore was subsequently played by Michael Gambon. The Harry Potter reboot is one of the most anticipated television shows in recent memory. It is sure to be a success, even without Jared Harris in the cast.
